Located in the beating heart of Union Station at the very edge of the train tracks, Tavernetta is a destination in its own right. Spacious, bright and run by a personable service team, the restaurant boasts a comfortable bar in the main dining as well as group-friendly seating further back by the open kitchen. An exercise in polish, class and restraint, the Italian menu is a proper deal at lunch, as classics like cacio e pepe or lamb ragu with rigatoni are prepared with obvious care. Close out with an affogato featuring honey gelato. As expected from the Frasca Hospitality Group, the wine list is a serious playground for enthusiasts.
