About

"Bistro" may not accurately capture the essence of this restaurant in the Schwabing neighbourhood, as the name dates back to an earlier era. Tucked away in Amalienpassage, the establishment exudes a pleasingly understated elegance, with Swiss stone pine from Austria contributing to the appealing atmosphere. The standard of the cuisine is every bit as impressive as the lovely, slick decor. The kitchen team headed up by owner Jürgen Wolfsgruber and Leander Bauer delivers two set menus: the five-course "Gustostückerl" in the evening and the four-course "Marktmenü" at lunchtime. Classic and signature dishes can be added on if you wish. The chef's predilection for ingredients sourced from his native Austria also shines through often, for example in the Almsee venison hunted on the family's own hunting ground near the lake. Furthermore, his passion for wine is apparent, as he enjoys joining his attentive and experienced front-of-house team in providing interesting recommendations.
