The charm of this country house already makes itself felt as you approach via a small bridge – the character of the idyllic old mill has been beautifully preserved and adapted for modern dining. The decor reflects the passion that Ruth and Harald Rüssel have poured into their establishment, as does the food. In the kitchen, the chef-patron and his son Frederik act as a dual force at the helm and, supported by their capable team, they serve up a set menu comprising four to seven courses. The classically based cuisine, peppered with creative accents, relies on select ingredients and solid craftsmanship. Vegetables, trout and char are sourced from the region; game comes from their own hunting grounds. Service is friendly and professional. The wine pairing is well worth exploring – fine Moselle wines are frequently recommended. The terrace by the small lake is an absolute delight! Attractive guestrooms.
