Radio Greenhouse
About
Radio Greenhouse is a project by the creative studio Whitestudios, located in the heart of the Basmanny district, within the modern space "Supermetall."
Radio Greenhouse is situated within the "Supermetall" complex, housed in a building from the Stalinist era. Upon entering Radio, each guest feels as if they've stepped into a greenhouse – surrounded by lush greenery, banana trees, and light. The interior design was created by Natalia Obukhova, co-founder of the design studio n.o.bureau. The first hall is bright, with panoramic windows and a glass roof, featuring a large number of live plants that create the atmosphere of a true oasis, along with wooden panels, a long stone bar, and numerous details – round lamps, a retro record player on the facade, art objects resembling microchips, radios from various eras, and a collection of scientific textbooks. The second hall is a complete contrast – more intimate, with shades of burgundy, subdued lighting, illuminated panels, a vintage enameled trolley, and stylish handmade rugs. It is here that traditional film screenings are held every Sunday by the restaurant team. The kitchen at Radio Greenhouse is overseen by the young and ambitious chef Nikita Gorshkov (Modus, AQ Kitchen, Stories). He skillfully combines familiar comfort food with Pan-Asian influences. The menu features both classic dishes, such as a spicy beef tartare (850 rubles), ravioli with beef cheek (950 rubles), a warming pho bo (730 rubles), beef stroganoff with smoked sour cream (1150 rubles), glass noodles with shrimp (890 rubles), and a delicate risotto with mushrooms (950 rubles), as well as unusual combinations of flavors and textures, such as a couscous tabouleh with eel (790 rubles), grilled dorade with gnocchi and coconut sauce (1250 rubles), or a strudel with pear and goat cheese ice cream (650 rubles). For those who like to start their day with a late breakfast, Radio Greenhouse offers familiar morning dishes daily from 12:00 to 16:00, including shakshuka with feta cheese (590 rubles), green buckwheat with Parmesan and a poached egg (490 rubles), an omelet with white mushrooms and spinach (690 rubles), and for dessert, syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes) with whipped sour cream and strawberry jam (550 rubles), as well as oatmeal with stewed pear and coconut caramel (550 rubles). The restaurant's bar menu has been given special attention – the head bartender, Alexander Mitin (FLØR Group), focuses on aromatic herbs and berries. For example, the slightly sweet Vanilla Passion, based on vodka with a strong passion fruit flavor and vanilla extract (800 rubles), or the intriguing Green House long drink, with a pleasant tartness from Sour Apple liqueur and gin infused with tarragon (800 rubles). Radio Greenhouse is a true haven for the fashionable crowd – designers and architects hold meetings here, well-known bloggers invite friends for brunch and cocktails, and in the evening, close friends gather to listen to vinyl records or watch their favorite movies.
