Diners go past the open kitchen into the trendy dining space, where attentive service comes courtesy of a friendly and dedicated front-of-house team. Modern, seasonal dishes demonstrate a pleasing sense of clarity and coherence with delightful contrasts and perfectly balanced flavours – "chanterelles, peas, sherry" or "black & black beef, Roscoff onions, thyme jus". Regional sourcing is another priority for the kitchen. The small cards providing information about the dishes are a nice idea. Diners create their own version of the "Big Adventure", "Adventure" or "Experience" set menus, which comprise nine, seven or five "plates" respectively. The staff will be happy to recommend wines from their Tauberhase range. Tip: tasteful hotel accommodation at Villa Mittermeier.
