La Maree

La Marée is a chain of gourmet restaurants in Moscow and St. Petersburg, created by a company that supplies fish and seafood, which has been operating in the market since 1989. The first restaurant opened in December 2004 on Petrovka, based on an idea from the company's president, Medi Dussa, who proposed a concept featuring a "display" of fresh seafood – ice counters and aquariums showcasing fish and delicacies sourced from various countries around the world.

The menu combines French, Italian, and Japanese traditions in serving seafood: oyster sets, raw fish dishes (crudités), and sashimi. The selection includes rare species of fish and shellfish, sourced from more than 20 countries, ranging from Norway and Tunisia to the Far East and the Kuril Islands. The wine list at the Petrovka restaurant has been recognized with awards from the Wine Spectator magazine since 2006.

The interiors of the restaurants are decorated in a Mediterranean style: mosaic panels inspired by the Tunisian "Bardo" museum, old ship planks with images of fish, ropes, and steering wheels. Today, the restaurants in the chain are located on Petrovka, Malaya Gruzinskaya Street, Zhukovka, Protochny Lane, and in St. Petersburg.
