L'Erba del Re

Situated in a period palazzo near one of Modena’s oldest churches (the façade of Santa Maria della Pomposa dates from the medieval period and the church was rebuilt in 1717), this recently restored, modern and minimalist restaurant has just nine tables and is adorned with contemporary paintings on its walls. There are numerous options here: a tasting menu which focuses on historic Emilian recipes (tortellini in capon broth, tagliatelle in a Modena-style ragù etc); a second menu featuring the chef’s latest dishes; a vegetarian option; and an à la carte which includes many of the restaurant’s house specialities.
