Just a few metres from the Nossa Senhora da Paz park, in the heart of Ipanema, there is a restaurant that keeps winning new devotees — and with good reason, as it has Pedro Coronha at the helm, considered one of the most outstanding chefs on the contemporary Brazilian culinary scene. His credentials speak for themselves: he trained at some of the world's great establishments — in both Lisbon and Copenhagen — and has been recognised as one of the most promising young chefs in all of Latin America. In its dining room, with its modern feel and open kitchen, you can savour a cuisine that, without neglecting the meat dishes and delicious homemade pastas, gives special pride of place to fish and seafood — Grilled prawns, Catch of the day à la meunière, Chargrilled octopus — celebrating the art of smoking and live-fire cooking. What did we love most? The truth is, we were thoroughly delighted by one dessert in particular: a fantastic warm, flaky cheesecake served with guava and cheese ice cream.
