About
Zineb ("Zizi") Hattab offers something truly out of the ordinary in her charming pub-style eatery. Not only is her creative modern cuisine entirely vegan, but it also draws on fascinating Moroccan and Mexican influences. The dishes are straightforward and unfussy; here, it is all about flavour and soul. The chef – born in Spain and the daughter of Moroccan immigrants – grew up on the Costa Brava. Originally an engineer, she followed her passion for cooking and cut her teeth working with the likes of Andreas Caminada in Switzerland and at the Mexican restaurant Cosme in New York. In the evening, you can choose between a four- to six-course surprise menu, which places a strong emphasis on regional and seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is best described as cosy and pleasingly informal. Tip for solo diners: There is a lovely little niche (formerly a telephone booth) that is the perfect spot for a meal alone. Reservations are recommended. Located on a corner plot a short walk from Zürich-Wiedikon station, this inviting restaurant is easily accessible via public transport.
