Kaupers Restaurant im Kapellenhof

About

This compact restaurant has the potential to become a firm favourite – so why not book without further ado? It is somewhat tucked away, but the effort to get there pays dividends, which is down to Nora Breyer and Sebastian Kauper (both trained chefs) and the setting of the Kapellenhof, an estate that dates back over 300 years. Working together beneath the gable roof as a well-oiled machine, this affable couple has created an extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere. Your hostess provides friendly service and will also be able to recommend some excellent wines. In his modern, seasonal cuisine, Sebastian Kauper uses only select ingredients. A wonderful example is the regional salmon trout served with bulgur, cedro lemon and garum. Some heritage vegetable varieties are grown in the restaurant's own garden. The chef is also particularly proud of his dry-aged hams – go ahead and ask how long they have been ageing. Gorgeous plant-filled roof terrace! Tip: "Late Lunch" – Sun from 2pm.
