Set beside a secluded lake, the small hotel offers far more than just a comfortable overnight stay. Raik Zeigner, head chef since 2005, excels in the classic culinary style that has long been a hallmark of the house. His four-course set menu is different every evening and showcases carefully chosen seasonal ingredients, from hot-smoked sea bass and exceptionally fresh turbot with fine roasted notes to flavoursome veal fillet. The location is equally appealing, combining lake views with elegant country-house charm. The impressive wood-burning stove at the centre of the dining room is just one of many attractive upscale details that create a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the heartfelt enthusiasm of hosts Petra and Adi König. The owner – virtually a walking wine encyclopaedia – unfailingly recommends the perfect pairings. The next generation is also already involved in the running of this delightful family business.
