Futura Osteria

Along the Via Francigena, just a few steps from Monteriggioni, stands the small medieval hamlet of Abbadia Isola, with its splendid Romanesque church and ancient buildings that once formed the monastery and its dependencies. Futura Osteria occupies the rooms that were once the monks’ cellars, where they stored their wines: here you can enjoy flavourful, Tuscan-inspired cuisine, simple and profoundly seasonal. The format offers three fixed-price tasting menus, with portions that are always generous; many of the vegetables come from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden. In addition to the menus, there is always Florentine steak cooked over the embers, as well as the option of ordering the selection of cured meats made by hand in the osteria and cheeses matured in-house. Completing the picture are a refined wine selection, friendly service and a secluded, atmospheric terrace.
