Nothing could make more sense here in the picturesque Weissensee Nature Park than to align the kitchen philosophy with the natural surroundings. In his six-course "BERG.SEE." menu, chef-patron Hannes Müller showcases a personal, ingredient-driven style – top quality guaranteed. Much of what is served originates from the restaurant's own farm or trusted local producers. Vegetarian creations are no afterthought here: take, for instance, the garden-grown courgette enhanced with a hint of fruity caramel, paired with wonderfully aromatic fermented black cherries and freshly foraged ground elder – an exceedingly full-bodied, bold combination. The Austrian-leaning wine list includes a fine range of organic and biodynamic labels. Monika Müller leads the exceptionally well-coordinated service team with great warmth, professional expertise and constant attention to your comfort as both hostess and sommelier. The view from the tastefully modern restaurant across the meadows to the lake is fantastic. Stylish and elegant accommodation is available in the hotel of the same name.
