Das Pfleger

This restaurant is located on a high plateau on the Pustertaler Höhenstraße (Val Pusteria Scenic Road) at an altitude of over 1 200m – its terrace with views of the Dolomites and Carnic Alps is enchanting. Ensconced in the hotel of the same name, run by the Mascher family, son Tom and his kitchen team cook seasonal regional fare, incorporating just the right amount of modern creativity. From the "Your Choice" section, you can choose à la carte, eg trout, walnut espuma, balsamic shallots, or steak, parsnip, curried potato and soya; alternatively there is the "Chef's Choice" surprise set menu comprising four or five courses. A shorter menu is served at lunchtime on Sundays.
