About
Authentic Indian cuisine in a casual setting with a European ambiance.
Moscow, Kalashny Lane, 9 Website Concept by: Sergey Krylov and Rinat Kuzin About the Restaurant The new restaurant by Sergey Krylov and Rinat Kuzin, named after a classic Indian dish made with lentils and vegetables, has opened at 9 Kalashny Lane. The kitchen at Dalla Masala is headed by Chef Tek Bahadur Khatri from Nepal, who has experience working in hotels and restaurants in the Indian states of Chandigarh and Lucknow. Together with a team of ethnic Indian chefs, Tek has developed a small, initial menu based on simple dishes and a blend of spices, all ground by hand. To get acquainted with the culinary traditions of the "land of colors" at Dalla Masala, we recommend starting with homemade bread baked in a traditional tandoor oven, specially made for the restaurant in the Tamil Nadu region. The restaurant also offers tava-roti, unleavened flatbread baked on a cast-iron skillet with low sides (110 rubles). The dough for these flatbreads is made with five ingredients: flour, water, salt, oil, and spices. The menu also features three types of naan, a popular Indian flatbread (110 rubles), which can be ordered with butter or garlic. In addition, the menu includes a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. For example, the dish that gives the restaurant its name is made with lentils, beans, and vegetables (390 rubles). There's also dal-mahani, a dish made with the oldest legume, mung beans, lentils, and beans, seasoned with aromatic spices (290 rubles), and the traditional Indian dish palak-paneer (350 rubles), which contains only two ingredients: spinach and homemade fresh cheese.
