About
A few kilometres into the first hills of the Adriatic hinterland are well worth the journey to reach the tranquil village of Montepagano. Here one finds a restaurant of original and engaging character, which defines itself as a ‘ristorante diffuso’: a concept given tangible form by a succession of rooms, dining spaces and intimate period salons, punctuated by strikingly contemporary works of art, as though one were moving through a miniature village within the village. The gastronomic direction is entrusted to a chef of considerable ability, capable of conveying through simple yet imaginative recipes a personal interpretation of the territory and its ancient traditions, with occasional echoes of his native Puglia. His work is enhanced by the contribution of the proprietress, who receives guests with engaging stories drawn from the history of the place, lending warmth and depth to the experience. Worthy of particular note is the current celebratory menu ‘10 anni, 10 piatti, 10 euro a piatto’: each creation represents a year, an evolution and a memory, offering a compelling and comprehensive panorama of the culinary identity of the house and the talents of chef Davide Pezzuto.
