BARBARA

About

Seafood, relaxation, and a show kitchen in the heart of the business district of the Ural capital, with a touch of Santa Barbara.

This seafood and relaxation restaurant (part of the GOOD COMMUNITY chain, already known for the BREADWAY cafe) is located in the tallest skyscraper in the Urals – the Iset Tower, which in turn is a key landmark in the Ekaterinburg-City business district. The sandy hues, abundance of live olives and citrus fruits, the imitation of waves on the ceiling, and the arrangement of tables in three "coastal" lines immediately suggest that you are somewhere on a Mediterranean resort. And the iconic arches that dominate the interior subtly hint at the restaurant's name and character: the creators were inspired by the Santa Barbara television series to create a project in this very interpretation… BARBARA is emotionally charged and independent, yet delicate and mysterious. Her "DNA" is defined by 6 "s" words that clearly characterize her: Sun, Sea, Sex, Shell, Sky, Sand. All 6 "s" words are reflected in everything, from the visual elements of the interior to the menu and the emotions you experience. During the day, she is quiet and peaceful, while in the evening, she is vibrant and lively. The menu features the best of the seas and oceans: dorada, squid, and octopus tentacles are grilled. Mussels are baked with scallops and shrimp, topped with cream cheese. Fish soup is made with shrimp, salmon, and cod. Fettuccine pasta is served with crab, while the black risotto is made with langoustines and asparagus mousse. Sea bass is served with cauliflower puree, and blue cod is served with quinoa and pear. A special section is dedicated to the show kitchen. For example, the tuna tataki with ponzu sauce is flambéed right in front of the guests, and dry ice is used when serving oysters. By the way, the restaurant opens with a raw bar featuring an aquarium. Six varieties of oysters, sea urchins, and Anadara shells are delivered in large quantities every two days. And every Wednesday, the restaurant hosts a wine and oyster pairing event, for which reservations are usually booked a week in advance.
