About
If you want to dive into the flavours of Amazonian cooking, this restaurant is an essential stop in the Itaim Bibi neighbourhood! The name Banzeiro refers to the movement of river waters caused by passing large boats and, in this space, it’s represented by the imposing canoe that dominates the room and integrates perfectly into the setting, revealing the region’s authenticity and essence. Chef Felipe Schaedler, known for bringing to São Paulo flavours often unknown in other territories, presents fire-and-ember cooking with ancestral techniques still used in the north-west of the country. On the menu, you’ll find palate-surprising dishes such as Formiga Saúva, saúva ants, served with mandioquinha purée; the traditional Tacacá, tucupi broth with jambu and dried prawns; and Matrinxã stuffed with banana farofa and roasted in a banana leaf... The dessert Brûlée de banana com puxuri, banana brûlée with puxuri spice, brings the experience to a golden close!
