Host and proprietor Anthony Sarpong runs an appealing restaurant-cum-cookery school. The Ghanaian-born chef is supported by a dedicated team, whose carefully considered dishes present a modern take on African culinary traditions. There are two set menus: "The Expedition" and the vegetarian "Green Journey", each available in a four-, five- or six-course format. Dishes such as "plantain, pear, savoy cabbage" or "suya kebab, fufu, peanut" are every bit as in tune with the times as the refined, stylish decor, the open kitchen and the easy-going atmosphere. The chefs serve the food themselves. After you have eaten, the dishes and ingredients are explained, encouraging an enjoyable dialogue between the kitchen team and the diners – Anthony Sarpong's passion for his concept is absolutely palpable.
