About
Now this is a school you'll be happy to attend! In an idyllic setting, Daniel Schmidthaler serves up an exciting and modern surprise menu comprising five or seven courses in the very classroom where pupils once studied. The menu changes daily thanks to a constant supply of seasonal ingredients, freshly sourced directly from the region. The result is dishes prepared with his own signature style, refined with aromatic herbs from the immediate vicinity and presented in a pleasingly minimalist way. The chef's Austrian origins also shine through time and again in the 10- or 12-course set menu. The decor in the converted classroom is simple and stylish, with charming features such as an old tiled stove, parquet flooring and tall mullioned windows. In the Wintergarten, you have a good alternative of regional cuisine served in the form of a three-course menu. They have inviting guestrooms for overnight guests. Tip: Cookery courses are also offered.
