About
Lazar's love for cooking was instilled in him by his mother and grandmother. As a child, the aspiring chef was always in the kitchen, and at the age of 6 or 7, his relatives would entrust him with tasks involving dough, which required a "strong hand," although, according to him, he didn't have enough strength at that time. From a young age, Lazar dreamed of becoming a chef, while his parents envisioned him as a professional athlete.
Despite lacking formal culinary education, at the age of 16, he started working in a Pan-Asian restaurant in Kabardino-Balkaria. Lazar began his career with basic tasks: cleaning vegetables, then he became a prep cook, and eventually, he rose to the position of sous chef in that restaurant.
One of the most important figures in Lazar's professional life was Sergei Kolpakov, the head chef where he worked when he moved to Moscow. Another key figure in his career story is Artem Matrosov, who, according to Lazar, still provides him with valuable advice. Lazar Garipov specializes in preparing seafood and fish, and his favorite ingredient is shrimp, "because you can make everything with them," he says. Another indispensable ingredient in Lazar's dishes is green cardamom, which he uses everywhere and always. The head chef of the "FISH project" restaurant admits that he loves his job – feeding people – and he does it professionally, never stopping at his achievements or acquired skills.
