About
Dmitry Bogachev began his career as a cook at a young age, even while still in his second year of studies at the lyceum. His first independent job was at the "Devyatka" cafe in the village of Metallostroy. After working there for about a year, balancing work with his studies, he realized he needed to move on. In 1999, Dmitry got a job at the "Gorodok" cafe on Konyushennaya Street, named after a popular television show. Six months later, he moved to the "Hollywood" restaurant, part of the "Hollywood Nights" club on Nevsky Prospekt, which was owned by the legendary Kumarin at the time. It was at this restaurant that Dmitry Bogachev first tried "carbonara with cream," and it completely changed his perspective, as Dmitry admits, he had never tasted anything so delicious before. His next place of employment was the "Mama Roma" establishment on Karavannaya Street, where he worked as a pizza chef. Then, he spent three years at the "1913" restaurant on Dekabristov Street. Despite his young age, just 21 years old, he left the restaurant as a sous chef. While working at the "Aquarel" restaurant, Dmitry Bogachev also enrolled at the St. Petersburg Institute of Trade and Economics, studying engineering technologies. During his studies, he held five different jobs: "Patio Pizza," the "Time Out" restaurant, the "Odin" restaurant, the "Gastronom" restaurant, and the "Rom Baba" pub. At the "Odin" restaurant in 2004, he met the chef, Igor Zorinin, who would later become his mentor. Igor had recently returned from England, where he had worked as a sous chef at the One-O-One restaurant, which had two Michelin stars. Igor shared his experience with Dmitry and gave him the impetus to further develop his career in the restaurant industry. It was after this event that Dmitry became a head chef for the first time, at the "Gastronom" restaurant, at the age of 23. Later, Dmitry Bogachev worked as a head chef at the "Zima Leto" restaurant and at "Gastronom," he launched the "Villa Zima Leto" project, and participated in projects such as "Freemans" and "Mayakovsky." After some time, Dmitry Bogachev became the head chef at the "Mansarda" restaurant, where he met Eldar Muradov, who became his mentor. After working together for a while, Dmitry and Eldar decided to combine their culinary talents and opened their own restaurant, "Mr Bo," in the summer of 2018.
