Just a short drive from the shores of Windermere, you'll find the charming Gilpin Hotel and Lake House, and within the main building sits this flagship restaurant. Be sure to start your visit with an aperitif in the bar or one of their many cosy sitting rooms, before diving into a menu that is by turns local and international in its outlook. Cumbrian produce is often given the platform to shine, such as superb lamb utilised for its loin, belly and shoulder with a classic lamb jus. Other dishes draw from Japan and beyond, as with an intense beurre blanc made with koji.
